With the VGC10, OnRobot offers users a compact alternative to its VG10 vacuum gripper. This was launched on the market in summer 2018 and can carry up to 15 kilograms with its flexibly adjustable gripper arms. The VGC10 is smaller and lighter than its predecessor with the same performance and load capacity. The lower dead weight is particularly beneficial for robot arms with a low payload, as it gives them more power for the object to be gripped.

Two independent air channels for more efficient processes
The new gripper does not require a compressor or external air supply, as the required vacuum is generated by an integrated electric vacuum pump. This reduces costs and noise. As it does not need any wear-prone cabling, the gripper requires less maintenance and takes up less space. This means it can also be used in confined spaces.

The VGC10 also increases production efficiency and reduces throughput times: two independently controllable air ducts allow it to lift one object and set the other down at the same time with a double gripper. At the same time, its use as a single air supply increases gripper performance.

The VGC10 gripper has a standardized mechanical and electrical interface as well as integrated software, which enables fast commissioning and uncomplicated conversion of the automation solution. The gripper is therefore compatible with a wide range of collaborative lightweight robots. Thanks to its easily interchangeable suction cups, it can grip objects of different shapes and sizes. The thread corresponds to the G1/8" standard, which simplifies the combination with suction cups of the same standard.

This flexibility allows users to adapt the gripper more quickly to more specific applications. It is also possible to extend the gripper's clamping width with extendable suction cup arms and thus also handle wider workpieces. Thanks to its IP54 rating, it is protected against dust and splash water on all sides, making it suitable for use in harsh working environments. as
