Connecting sheet metal storage and processing machines

Kasto has expanded its portfolio to include a manipulator for the unmanned handling of sheet metal. It seamlessly connects the fully automated storage systems with laser cutting machines.

The new and cost-effective sheet metal manipulator from Kasto is suitable for separating sheets, feeding various processing machines and removing good parts and offcuts. It has a vacuum traverse with which it can individually pick up packs of sheets from the warehouse and place them on the table of the respective processing machine. The laser-cut individual parts and the remaining sheet metal skeleton can also be removed from the machine's work area using this rake traverse. This enables unmanned production with high throughput and relieves employees of the laborious and risky handling of the large-format sheets.

According to Kasto, one advantage of the solution is that it can be flexibly combined with machines from different manufacturers. Users are therefore independent in their choice of machine suppliers and can implement complete systems tailored specifically to their sheet metal processing requirements. Customers also have various options when it comes to storage technology: Kasto's Unitower and Uniline sheet metal storage systems, among others, are suitable for use in conjunction with the manipulator. With its compact design, it can be integrated into almost any production environment.
