Gripping systems
Combined gripping and swiveling with 24V
With the electric gripper swivel unit EGS from Schunk in size 40 from the 24V modular system, parts weighing up to 0.55 kilograms can also be picked up and rotated in a compact space.
A coupling of the gripper and swivel gear patented by Schunk enables endless rotation of the gripper without electrical grinding. Backlash-free pre-tensioned cross roller guides ensure precise gripping and almost constant gripping forces over the entire finger length. In combination with ELP linear axes and EGP small parts grippers, pneumatic-free assembly systems based on 24V technology can be realized.
Quiet with high process stability
The gripper swivel module, which is equipped with standard connections, is controlled either via fieldbus distributors or via digital I/O, making it compatible with all common control systems and eliminating the need to factor in additional costs and delivery times for peripherals. The complete control and power electronics for decentralized control of the motors are integrated directly into the module. There is no need for valve terminals as with pneumatic gripper swivel modules or drive controllers in the control cabinet. This saves space and a lot of time during planning, procurement and commissioning.
Commissioning and changing to a new range of parts is simple, says Schunk: Both the rotational speed and the gripping force can be regulated in several stages directly on the module using rotary switches. Rotation angles between 30 and 270 degrees can be realized. These are set mechanically directly on the module. A query is possible via inductive proximity switches.
As the module is equipped exclusively with stationary, brushless and therefore wear-free 24V DC motors and does not require moving cables, slip rings or shock absorbers, it increases the process stability and availability of assembly systems. The noise level is also reduced. The compact gripper swivel modules are available in sizes 25 and 40 with gripping forces of 15 or 140 newtons and strokes of three or six millimetres for component weights of up to 0.55 kilograms. as
