Energy chains and hoses

Bracket for more safety on cobots

When man and machine come together in production, safety in the workplace is an important issue. This is why Igus has developed a fastening clamp for energy chains and protective hoses on cobots.

Cobots continue to be a major trend in production and are not only being used by major industry players, but also increasingly by small and medium-sized companies. This is because the automation of sub-processes ensures that companies can remain competitive on the market. The collaborative robots work hand in hand with humans. Sensors and cameras as well as an energy management system ensure the safety of the process.

Igus has developed the three-dimensional Triflex R-E chain series so that cables and hoses can be guided reliably and compactly on cobots. Users can rely on the Lean Robotics clamps from Igus to securely fasten the energy chain or protective hose to the robot. The universal brackets with Velcro tape are flexible in shape and therefore adapt to any robot arm. A slim design with rounded edges increases work safety by reducing the risk of injury on contact with the robot.

Quickly mounted and cost-effective
The Lean Robotics mount can be attached directly to the robot in two simple steps: simply place the Velcro strap around the robot arm and secure it. "Thanks to the Velcro strap, users can attach the new holders to any robot of their choice without tools. Thanks to the flexible plastic, they can also be mounted on a different cobot at any time," explains Matthias Meyer, Head of Industry Management Robotics at Igus. "As we manufacture the clamps using injection molding, they are particularly cost-effective."

The holder will be available in three versions: The standard version has two infinitely adjustable Velcro straps in a universal size as well as a rubber coating on the inside so that the straps are fixed to the arm without slipping. This version is also available with a connection element with and without strain relief. For additional protection, a third version of the holder can also be fitted with a protector. The new brackets are suitable for use on the Triflex R series TRC/TRE/TRL 30, 40 and 50 as well as for all commercially available protective conduits with different diameters. as
