Area gripper FQE

The tolerant

Schmalz has developed a new gripper for automated handling: The FQE is also suitable for various tasks on collaborative robots and holds workpieces of different sizes and shapes quickly and securely.

The versatile gripper was developed for picking up workpieces regardless of their size and geometry and from different positions. It is suitable for use on collaborative robots as well as for fully automated applications - for end-of-line packaging in intralogistics as well as for the sensitive gripping of products in the automotive, glass or electronics sectors.

The new end-of-arm tool has integrated control valves with suction and blow-off functions. They are not only responsible for short cycle times, but also reduce interfering contours. This is also important for human-robot collaboration (HRC): Schmalz paid attention to rounded edges, increasing the contact surface and keeping impact forces as low as possible during the design process. This means that the new gripper complies with ISO TS 15066 and is therefore HRC-capable. At the same time, the modular lightweight construction keeps the dead weight of the FQE so low that it can hold up to 35 kilograms.

The FQE is available in an M version for operation with external vacuum generators and an X version. In the X version, the integrated ecoPump SEP provides the necessary vacuum - energy-efficient and cost-saving. Sound insulation minimizes noise pollution for nearby employees. Users can choose between foam or suction cups as the sealing element. The gripper is available in sizes 120 x 60, 220 x 80 and 300 x 130 millimetres. pb
