Cloud solutions
For more efficiency in sheet metal processing
At this year's Blechexpo, Lantek will be showcasing its cloud solutions for greater efficiency in sheet metal processing. Without having to expand their IT department, sheet metal fabricators of all sizes can go their own way towards digital transformation. The IT specialist will be demonstrating how this works with its enhanced cloud solutions from November 5 to 8 in Stuttgart. Lantek MetalShop" for setting up a web store also runs via the "Lantek 360" cloud platform.
Ordering sheet metal parts easily and around the clock online. Companies can now offer their customers this with the "Lantek MetalShop" software - contract manufacturers in particular are likely to be interested in this additional contact option. At the virtual counter, customers can upload the data for the desired parts themselves - and immediately receive a valid quotation that they can confirm online just as quickly.
"For us, MetalShop is the logical final step that rounds off the concept of our cloud-based platform Lantek 360," says Christoph Lenhard, Lantek Sales Manager for the DACH region. "Thanks to the integration of the web store into the overall software suite, sheet metal processors can not only offer their customers solidly calculated prices and reliable delivery times, customers can also call up their previous orders and access previously produced parts. We know from conversations that younger professionals in particular want to use this tool to draw attention to themselves in the industry, win new customers and get orders."
"Lantek 360" is the name of the cloud platform that the IT specialist has developed specifically for the needs of sheet metal processing - regardless of the size of the company. With the help of cloud technologies, companies can make better use of their existing data because expensive computing power is outsourced and the applications do not place a burden on in-house systems and are also more readily available. Cloud applications require no additional hardware or software and no additional IT staff. Lantek and the cloud service provider ensure the availability, maintenance and security of the application and data. In addition, users can access their data from anywhere via the Internet, which offers maximum flexibility for cross-location processes, enables mobile working and means reliability, as the data is not just stored in one place and every user always works with up-to-date values. The service can be booked with just a few clicks, can be canceled just as quickly and only costs a monthly or annual fee.
"SherLock" secured
The company has developed "SherLock" for the secure transfer of data between the company and the cloud - because according to the hybrid cloud model, data is created and stored in the company, but is processed in the external network, for which the software automatically retrieves all relevant parameters into the cloud. Coding techniques, communication isolation, key encryption and user authentication protect the data from unauthorized access between the company and the virtual network.
The "Lantek Analytics" software enables small and medium-sized companies to do what previously only costly special developments by consulting companies could do: It is the cloud-based complete solution for business analytics in sheet metal processing. With its two modules "Manufacturing Analytics" for production analysis and "Customer Analytics" for customer analysis, it is tailored to the production data generated in the company's Lantek software suite. Each company can use it individually with its own key performance indicators. It automatically analyses all relevant parameters and answers specific questions for strategic management decisions or to optimize production.
Calculating quotes without technical knowledge
With "Lantek iQuoting", companies can create valid calculations for quotations at any time and from anywhere. The cloud-based tool connects the company's MES and ERP systems and accesses data from the modules for nesting, production order management and operations management. The software automatically checks the availability of materials and capacities and includes material, manufacturing and transportation costs as well as individual customer rates in the calculation. This means that even users without any technical knowledge can generate precise cost estimates in no time at all.
iQuoting is what makes the cloud-based MetalShop possible in the first place and ensures that it answers online quotation requests quickly and accurately. This is because iQuoting first checks the order in the background of the web store and then communicates with other company systems to generate the calculation based on real-time data - including individual customer rates. Lantek iQuoting also generates the invoice, which the customer can find in his online account in the MetalShop.
The benefits of the company's fourth cloud-based software will be of particular interest to workshop managers whose companies manufacture assemblies in several work steps: With the "Lantek Control Panel" app on their smartphone or tablet, they can keep an eye on the entire system at all times - like on a virtual dashboard. Feedback from the machines means that all processes and key figures are always up to date and all processes associated with production, such as production status, downtimes or failures, are displayed. Information on business activities such as inquiries or new order confirmations can also be called up at any time. Fault messages help those responsible to intervene more quickly in the event of an emergency.
