With a total of 14,000 square meters of floor space and a modern reception area, the ten-meter-high building represents a significant improvement on the previous production facilities. Those responsible adopted many concepts from the company's other production sites.

"The structure of the halls enables a much more efficient use of the available space. The production line and warehouse both follow clearly defined rules, which is why the transportation of goods throughout the space can be made much more flexible, faster and easier," says Thomas Kipke, Head of Global Production. With a further 2,500 square meters of open space at the new production facility, Weidmüller has additional capacity to continue to pursue and implement its ideas of lean production and sustainable development on site in the future.

The project managers attached great importance to the design of the modern workstations, which should help to increase productivity and creativity and retain motivated employees in the company. At the same time, solar technology is being used as a form of energy generation for the first time in Suzhou. This makes production greener, safer and more sustainable. The entire IT infrastructure is geared towards security and efficiency. "Our aim is to systematically network all resources, starting with our production facilities, products and, of course, our employees, in order to develop even more intelligent solutions for our customers on this broad basis," says Lance Zhao, Executive Vice President Region Asia.
