Rutronik opens location in Singapore

Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente is continuing its expansion into Asia. The broadline distributor recently opened a warehouse location and sales offices in Singapore in Southeast Asia. The new branch is intended to combine the globally standardized quality of Rutronik services with greater regional proximity to manufacturers and customers in the ASEAN region.

The new warehouse, which covers around 650 square meters, is located in the same building as the sales office. The facility's logistics management system and performance level meet German standards. The establishment of Rutronik Singapore is intended to optimize product availability and distribution for Asian customers. As a result, the customer base will benefit from better logistics support as lead times can be shortened thanks to strong support from local suppliers.

The branch office will be able to operate more independently of the headquarters in Germany in order to support time- and cost-efficient business processes in the ASEAN group of countries. The ASEAN region includes Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia and India. A total of 22 employees work for Rutronik Singapore, seven of whom are based in Thailand, two in India and one directly in Malaysia. They are supported by the marketing and logistics team in Singapore.

Growth potential in the ASEAN region

"The growth momentum in Asia is immense. Accordingly, the market there is very important to us. We are taking this into account with the establishment of Rutronik Singapore. We want to offer our partners there even more efficient, direct support and thus participate in the region's growth. In our long-term strategic planning, we also have India in our sights. With over 1.3 billion people, the country is the second most populous country in the world after China and has great economic potential. We are keeping a close eye on developments there so that we can react accordingly," says Els Seah (photo), General Manager South East Asia at Rutronik.
