Protection and power management

Andreas Mühlbauer,

Mersen at the PCIM 2024

Mersen, an expert in electrical protection and power management solutions, will be presenting a wide range of new products and solutions for power electronics, e-mobility, charging stations and energy storage systems at PCIM 2024 in Nuremberg from June 11 to 13, 2024.

New 500 kVA - 1.7kV SiC power stack

Mersen will also present its latest SiC power stack reference design. With capabilities up to 1200 Vdc DC bus and up to 300 Arms at 25 kHz, this evaluation kit helps inverter designers save time and nerves in selecting individual components by benefiting from a solution that is optimally pre-designed for their specific application (e.g. DC smart grid, EV charging stations, renewable energy, e-mobility). In addition, Mersen's unique capacitor-to-busbar mounting technology offers a DC link inductance of only 7 nH.

Upon request, Mersen's engineering team supports customers in design customization and optimization to better meet their specific requirements (form factor, power, topology).

Innovation in DC high-voltage fuses for 1500 V, 1000 V and 500 V platforms

Mersen will also be presenting innovative products for emerging markets at PCIM. The focus will be on new fuses for energy storage systems, charging stations and electric vehicles. With ABAT and GBAT fuses for energy storage systems, D fuses for charging stations and MEV fuses for electric vehicles, Mersen has developed a complete product portfolio that can withstand high alternating load cycles and low power losses, thus improving system reliability and efficiency.

Customized solutions for cooling, busbars and capacitors

Visitors to PCIM will be able to learn about Mersen's expertise in a wide range of passive components such as cold plates, capacitors and busbar solutions. The company has extensive know-how in vacuum brazing and simulation of cooling systems for power electronic components as well as 180 °C high temperature and very low inductance busbars. Mersen also has decades of experience in the manufacture of customized capacitor solutions and their assembly with busbars.

Live presentation on electric vehicles

In addition to numerous innovative products, visitors to the Mersen stand on June 11 and 12 from 12:30 to 12:50 p.m. can look forward to an exciting presentation on new challenges in the protection and interconnection of EV batteries.

In addition, Philippe Roussel, VP Power Stack Product Line, will be available at the booth every day to present Mersen's latest developments in the field of power stack optimization.

Visit Mersen from June 11 to 13, 2024 at PCIM Europe in Nuremberg in Hall 9 at booth 534.
