Work-bike balance at Hoffmann
Cycling for a good cause
Hoffmann employees are pedaling for the Hoffmann Group Foundation as part of the 4th Work-Bike-Balance. For every kilometer they cycle to work, the company will pay a small amount to the corporate foundation until the end of July.
In 2017, a donation of 9,365 euros was made in this way. The "Work-Bike-Balance" initiative was initiated by the trainees in 2014 and has since been organized annually by the youngest generation of trainees. "The work-bike balance was one of the reasons why I decided to do an apprenticeship at the Hoffmann Group," says Dominik Penninger, first-year apprentice at the Hoffmann Group and organizer of this year's cycling competition. Co-organizer Marius Friedl agrees with him: "Anyone who cycles diligently is supporting traumatized and socially disadvantaged children and young people and doing something for their own fitness and the environment at the same time. The concept is simply brilliant. We hope that everyone will take part and that we will exceed the amount donated in 2017."
The chances of this are good. Hoffmann's workforce has grown over the past year and the work-bike balance has been well received by employees: "I really enjoy taking part in the work-bike balance," says SAP key user Sidney Beck. "The idea that the children benefit from it motivates me to get on my bike even in bad weather and leave the car behind. The internal ranking list in which we enter our kilometers also spurs me on, because you want to keep up with your colleagues." Foundation Manager Janette Bopp-Behrendt is delighted with the commitment: "This year, we want to set up a workshop for the children at the Rupert-Mayer-Haus in Göppingen. We can make very good use of the donation from the Work Bike Balance." The Work-Bike-Balance is a Germany-wide campaign in which all Hoffmann branches and partners participate. as
