Welding 2019 trade fair in Linz brought forward

Due to an unforeseen clash of dates, Reed Exhibitions has brought forward the next date of the quadrennial welding trade fair in Linz (Austria) by almost a month. It will now take place from September 10 to 12, 2019, with the Design Center remaining unchanged as the venue.

The background: When the traditional October date of Schweissen was fixed and announced three years ago, it was not yet foreseeable that the EFHT - Electronics Trade Days would be moved from Salzburg to the Design Center Linz. On the other hand, the EFHT has always been tied to a date shortly after the Berlin IFA due to the large number of new products on show. However, the organizers of IFA 2019 have now moved the date of the trade fair back by a week, meaning that the EFHT also had to move back. According to Schweissen organizer Reed Exhibitions, it was more efficient for everyone involved in terms of set-up and dismantling logistics to swap the 2019 dates of Schweissen and EFHT.

Linz ideal location

Previously held as part of Smart and Intertool at Messe Wien, Welding was presented by Reed Exhibitions as an independent trade fair at the Design Center Linz for the first time in 2015. The basis for the new concept of Austria's only trade fair platform for joining, cutting, coating, testing and protecting was the transfer to the Austrian central region with strong industrial zones and the new four-year cycle. A decision that was not only supported by the entire industry, but also proved to be absolutely right, as the success of the premiere in 2015 proved.

"Linz with its Design Center is the ideal location for Schweissen," says Alexander Eigner, the Category Manager responsible for the project. "After all, we are located in the heart of Austria's strongest economic and industrial region, and Upper Austria has the largest number of companies relevant to welding. We will continue this success story with Schweissen 2019."
