Atlas Copco takes over Quiss

Atlas Copco has acquired Quiss Quality Inspection Systems and Service. The company specializes in system solutions for the visual 100 percent inspection and monitoring of adhesive and sealant applications.

The company's core expertise lies in image processing and the algorithms required for this, as well as system design, including hardware and software. The products are primarily used for quality control of adhesive and sealant application in the automotive industry. The Quiss portfolio also includes solutions for 2D and 3D position detection, robot guidance, completeness checks and can and can lid inspection.

Quiss currently has 45 employees and had a turnover of around 8.4 million euros in 2017. "With this acquisition, we are gaining expertise and know-how in the field of visual quality assurance and robot guidance," says Henrik Elmin, President of Atlas Copco's Industrial Technology Division. Quiss will be integrated into the Industrial Assembly Systems Division (IAS) of the Industrial Technology Division. The purchase price of the transaction is subordinated to Atlas Copco's market capitalization and will not be disclosed. as
