Toyota Material Handling strengthens sales activities
As of January 2, Toyota Material Handling Germany will continue the operations of Johann Winter Fördertechnik, which filed for insolvency last October. In addition, Toyota is taking over a minority shareholding in its dealer, the forklift truck distributor Wolfgang Schlüter, following many years of trusting cooperation.
As of January 2, 2018, Toyota Material Handling Deutschland GmbH will continue the operations of Johann Winter Fördertechnik GmbH (Johann Winter). The Toyota dealer filed for insolvency on October 17, 2017. Together with the insolvency administrator, constructive talks have resulted in a forward-looking solution for customers and employees. "We want to hold on to the Bremen site and further expand our local presence. This way, we can ensure that loyal customers who are affected by the insolvency will continue to receive support from Toyota," explains Norman Memminger, Managing Director of Toyota Material Handling Deutschland GmbH.
"We are offering employees who have successfully represented the Toyota brand in Bremen a secure future. We see the takeover of customers and employees as a commitment and want to strengthen our growth in the Bremen area," Memminger continued. For the time being, Ralf Fehrmann, Head of Dealer Sales, will take over the integration of the Bremen branch as Branch Manager.
Minority interest in Schlüter
Toyota Material Handling Deutschland GmbH acquires a minority shareholding in its dealer, Gabelstapler-Vertrieb Wolfgang Schlüter GmbH, after many years of trustful cooperation.
"With this investment, we want to secure Schlüter's long-term corporate development and further cement Toyota's sales success," explains Norman Memminger, Managing Director of Toyota Material Handling Deutschland GmbH. The investment was notarized on December 8, 2017. With long-term investments of this kind, Toyota aims to secure its sales channels.
