Stäubli Bayreuth: Expansion until 2021

Stäubli wants to set the course for continued growth in Bayreuth with the planned conversion and expansion of its site. Work is scheduled to begin in fall 2019 and be completed in the first quarter of 2021.

The reason for the conversion and expansion of the technology site was the increasing space requirements of the coupling technology (Connectors), robot technology (Robotics) and weaving machines (Textile) business units. The expansion is intended to provide Stäubli with sufficient space for continuous growth, better network the business units and optimize operational workflows. Once the final building permit has been granted, the go-ahead for implementation is due to be given in the fall.

The heart of the site will be a joint visitor center for all business units with a central reception, product exhibitions, conference and training rooms in the central area of the site. Stäubli wants to give its customers a better understanding of Stäubli's product synergies and know-how and present the complementary technologies of the individual business units from the perspective of the customer markets.

Another part of the concept is the construction of a new building for the Robotics division on the property acquired in 2016 on the north side of the site. New offices and large areas for robot maintenance and system preparation under one roof, as well as a test area for mobile robots, focus on customer requirements, ensure short distances and simplify collaboration, while state-of-the-art conditions had already been created for the Textile division through a conversion in 2016.

Optimized logistics
A new logistics building is also being created for the Connectors and Robotics divisions to improve operational processes. The aim is to bundle incoming and outgoing goods and make them more efficient. Other measures include the construction of a sustainable energy supply center. Alongside the construction of additional parking spaces, Stäubli is also committed to the use of alternative mobility options and offers its employees a bike-to-work program, for example. as
