Sigfox at the Bosch ConnectedWorld

Sigfox connectivity becomes part of the Bosch portfolio

At booth A14 at Bosch Connected World 2018, Sigfox, service provider for IoT connectivity, will present products and proof-of-concepts for Sigfox-based IoT connectivity together with various Bosch divisions. Target markets include shared mobility, smart logistics and smart farming as well as smart cities and connected buildings.

"This is the first event at which we are presenting products and services that were developed as part of the Global Framework Agreement we signed with Bosch last summer," explains Vincent Sabot, VP Europe at Sigfox. "A heating boiler with Sigfox networking for preventive fault detection and remote maintenance is just one of the many different products and proof-of-concepts that we are presenting alongside the Sigfox connection to Bosch's Domain Development Kit (XDK)."

With its particularly small housing, which measures just 60 x 40 x 22 mm³ including the battery, the Bosch XDK development kit can be used for retrofits on things of any size. Developers can simply attach the XDK to any device and access the device data around the clock via Sigfox.

The presentations will also include deep indoor coverage of the LPWAN-based Sigfox network, which will be demonstrated live at the event using various Sigfox-based products and services. The network, which is currently being expanded globally, serves to connect billions of devices to the Internet. Sigfox's concept for communicating devices with the cloud aims to solve the three main obstacles to global IoT adoption: Cost, energy consumption and global scalability. kp
