Siemens and Atos expand cooperation

Siemens and Atos are strengthening their strategic cooperation and want to further expand their joint business by 2020. With an increase of 100 million euros to 330 million euros, the program is now more than three times as large as when it was launched. This will further support the strategic IoT MindSphere cooperation between Siemens and Atos and their joint market presence.

The joint innovation and investment program aims to improve the digital strategy of both companies. It also aims to improve the development of joint capabilities in the areas of data analytics, artificial intelligence, advanced IoT and connectivity services, cybersecurity and digital service technologies to support the digital transformation of their customers with an end-to-end IoT solution.

Since the start of the partnership in 2011, Siemens and Atos have achieved a joint order volume of EUR 2.5 billion, significantly exceeding all expectations.

At its most recent meeting, the steering committee of the Atos-Siemens alliance expressed its satisfaction with the development of the business cooperation, which exceeded the targets set.

"The strategic alliance continues to deliver strong business results while addressing key digital and innovative technologies," said Roland Busch, Chief Technology Officer and Member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG and Member of the Supervisory Board of Atos SE. "We will bring the strengths of both companies even closer together and use the joint investment program to expand our approach to topics such as cyber security and artificial intelligence. We value Atos as an important partner for our MindSphere system and its comprehensive support of our ambitions."
