Sensor+Test ends with record number of exhibitors

Sensor+Test ended with the highest number of exhibitors for ten years. The proportion of exhibitors from abroad even rose to a new high of over 40 percent.

Almost 8,000 trade visitors (previous year: 8,107) came to Nuremberg over the three days of the fair, while 591 exhibitors (previous year: 569) provided information on the latest developments in sensor, measuring and testing technology at their stands and in the lecture forums. The number of exhibitors thus reached its highest level in the last 10 years, and the proportion of exhibitors from abroad even rose to a new high of over 40 percent.

Even the unexpected World Cup exit of the DFB team, which was followed live on many exhibition stands, could only slightly dampen the good mood of visitors and exhibitors. Christoph Kleye, Chairman of the Exhibitor Advisory Board, reports: "The first day of the fair in particular exceeded expectations. Overall, the flow of visitors was better distributed both over the days of the trade fair and in the exhibition halls. We observed that visitors spent more time at the stands, which contributed to a very relaxed atmosphere overall."

Holger Bödeker, Managing Director of the organizer AMA Service, confirms: "The concerns about the later trade fair date have proven to be largely unfounded. We are convinced that the new, now fixed date in the last week of June will become firmly established in the industry's diaries."

The accompanying 19th ITG/GMA Conference Sensors and Measurement Systems 2018 on the first two days of the trade fair was also well attended. The conference directors, Prof. Dr. Leonhard Reindl (University of Freiburg) and Prof. Dr. Jürgen Wöllenstein (Fraunhofer IPM, Freiburg), were pleased with the further expansion of the conference program, which for the first time featured five parallel sessions and almost 170 presentations and posters, as well as the positive development in attendance.

The ettc 2018 - European Test and Telemetry Conference - also took place in Hall 2 at the same time as Sensor+Test. Renaud Urli, Manager Instrumentation at Airbus Helicopters and President of the organizing European Society of Telemetry, commented: "The trade visitors particularly praised the close proximity of the conference and exhibition. Although we had slightly fewer exhibitors overall than in 2016, we had many new companies presenting at ettc for the first time."

Sensor+Test 2019 - with the special theme "Sensors and measurement technology for process automation" - will once again take place at the Exhibition Center Nuremberg from 25 to 27 June 2019. The focus will continue to be on networking and digital transformation. Next year, the trade fair will be accompanied by the 20th GMA/ITG Sensors and Measurement Systems Conference 2019. as
