BASF sponsors new Master's program

The Rhineland-Palatinate University of Technology Kaiserslautern-Landau (RPTU) is expanding its range of courses with a new, future-oriented Master's degree program: Digital Process Engineering. The aim is to meet the increasing demand for specialists who combine technical know-how with digital expertise - especially for the process industry. The program is supported by a scholarship from BASF: the BASF Digital Excellence Scholarship.

Scholarship for young talent

With the BASF Digital Excellence Scholarship, outstanding students of the new Master's program are supported with 500 euros per month for up to two years. The scholarship is intended not only to improve study conditions, but also to enable early contact with specialists and managers at BASF.

Focus on digitalized process engineering

The English-language Master's degree course in Digital Process Engineering is part of the Department of Mechanical and Process Engineering. It is aimed at Bachelor's graduates with a solid foundation in process engineering, chemical engineering, biotechnology or related disciplines - and with a particular interest in digital transformation.

The four-semester course provides comprehensive knowledge in areas such as scientific computing, data science, modelling, simulation and optimization, applied to the challenges of the modern process industry.

Voices from science and industry

"We are delighted to have the support of BASF with the BASF Digital Excellence Scholarship," says Professor Erik von Harbou, Head of the degree program at RPTU. "This funding is an important building block for the success of our new Master's program and enables us to attract particularly talented and motivated students to this international course. In addition, BASF's commitment confirms that we are correctly addressing the industry's need for excellently trained specialists with the focus of this Master's program."

"We expect that this cooperation will not only promote the education of students at the highest level, but also intensify the exchange between theory and practice. The close cooperation between RPTU and BASF gives us direct contact with outstanding students with the skills we need to master the challenges of tomorrow. This partnership strengthens the innovative power and technological expertise on both sides."
