Tetsuya Horimoto succeeds Dr. Takashi Kabe, who retired at the end of 2017 after many successful years as head of the former Schmersal sales office in Japan. Tetsuya Horimoto is an electrical engineer with many years of management experience at well-known international companies in the automation industry and is also a TÜV-certified Functional Safety Engineer.

"With the establishment of the subsidiary in Tokyo, Schmersal will expand its range of safety components and systems for the Japanese market. In addition, we will be able to offer our customers the comprehensive services of our tec.nicum division locally," explains Tetsuya Horimoto.

The aim is to expand the Schmersal site in Japan both in terms of space and personnel. A separate warehouse is to ensure faster delivery to customers in future and additional engineers are to ensure better customer service. The newly founded Schmersal Japan KK is located at the same site as the previous Schmersal Japan Branch Office. as
