ek robotics files for the initiation of preliminary insolvency proceedings
ek robotics has filed an application for the initiation of provisional insolvency proceedings under self-administration with the competent local court in Hamburg. The court has ordered provisional self-administration.
The management of ek robotics will remain in office without restriction and will continue to run the company. Business operations will continue without restriction. The insolvency restructuring of the management will be carried out by lawyer Jochen Sedlitz and his team from the law firm Grub Brugger. The court has also appointed insolvency expert Stefan Denkhaus from the law firm BRL (Biege Rohde Luebbehuesen) as provisional administrator to oversee the self-administration.
All existing customer and supplier relationships will be served as usual. All services will also remain fully available and are secured for the long term beyond the proceedings. The foreign subsidiaries of the ek robotics Group are not affected by the proceedings.
The aim of the restructuring process is to stabilize ek robotics economically and make it fit for the future. According to the company, the background to this step is a challenging market environment: Reluctance to invest, economic uncertainties and global market distortions are currently also having an impact on industrial plant engineering. In addition, individual old projects with insufficiently compensated additional costs are having a negative impact on earnings. Discussions with affected customers have not yet led to an economically viable solution.
M&A process initiated
Parallel to the self-administration, the company has initiated a structured investor process in order to examine and implement additional strategic options for future development. Initial talks with potential investors have already begun.
Managing Director Andreas Lindemann emphasizes: "Our goal is to sustainably stabilize ek robotics GmbH and position it for the future. Self-administration provides us with the necessary entrepreneurial and legal framework to actively shape this path. We are convinced that we will successfully master this step together with our employees, customers and partners. Our special thanks go to everyone for their trust and support during this phase."
