Schmalz drives internationalization forward
New Schmalz site in Melbourne
With its new branch in Melbourne, Australia, vacuum specialist Schmalz is opening its 19th location worldwide, thus continuing to drive forward the internationalization of the company.
"We want to grow on the fifth continent. In addition to traditionally strong sectors such as mechanical engineering, logistics and the timber industry, we see considerable potential for vacuum technology in the advancing automation and digitalization of the Australian economy," explains Managing Partner Dr Kurt Schmalz.
Schmalz has therefore acquired a long-standing trading partner, Millsom Hoists Pty Ltd. Schmalz has enjoyed an intensive and trusting working relationship with the founders, Janis and Barry Millsom, for many years. Both are now retiring. The company is based in Bayswater, a suburb of Melbourne. Millsom Hoists has been selling vacuum technology from Schmalz on the Australian market for around 30 years and has made a name for itself as a specialist in handling technology. The company employs 20 people. kp
