New Managing Director TÜV SÜD Product Service
Peter Havel is the new Spokesman of the Management Board
Dr. Peter Havel is the new CEO of TÜV SÜD Product Service. He heads the management team around Dr. Jens Butenandt and Holger Lindner and is responsible for the operational business. Dr. Jens Butenandt is responsible for all technical and administrative functions, such as quality management, IT and human resources. Holger Lindner will continue to oversee the areas of finance and controlling. All three report to the interim CEO of the Product Service division, Dirk Eilers.
Havel has held various positions within the Group for 16 years. Starting as an auditor for functional and software safety, the electrical engineer then moved to the position of assistant to the CEO of the AG. He was then responsible for the Medical Devices division in Japan. Over the past seven years, he has very successfully managed the global Medical Health Service business with around 600 employees from Singapore and America and was able to significantly increase both sales and profits in the division.
As Managing Director, he will be responsible for the testing business for a wide range of products. "The global market for product testing and certification is a highly competitive growth market," says Havel. "We will specifically evaluate new technologies and developments in order to confidently make investments for our successful future. The rapid pace of technological development will only be usable for the masses if the new developments function safely, are practical and available. In line with our founding mission, we will make our contribution to making technologies and innovations available to society in a timely and safe manner. TÜV SÜD Product Service will thus become an even more important component of progress in the future."
Dr. Havel succeeds Robert Kees, who is CEO of the newly created Group division Sales & Marketing. The strategic key account program and Group marketing are combined in this division. Dr. Havel will be succeeded by Dr. Royth von Hahn as Head of Medical Health Services. kp
