New CEO at IFS: Darren Roos succeeds Alastair Sorbie
Global business software provider IFS has appointed Darren Roos as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The appointment will take effect on April 1, 2018. The previous CEO, Alastair Sorbie, will retire at the end of the first quarter of 2018.
Roos is a proven leader in the field of enterprise software and has an impressive track record of building and growing global software businesses. Most recently, Roos was responsible for SAP's global cloud ERP business. Prior to that, he significantly expanded Software AG's international activities, enabling the company to triple its size.
"I am delighted and feel privileged to be able to lead IFS into the next phase of its successful history," says Roos. "IFS is an exceptional company! Its leadership in ERP and service management software, combined with an exemplary customer satisfaction record, provides the perfect foundation to achieve a dominant position in the enterprise software market. I will bring all my experience in growth, cloud business and building high performing teams to help IFS develop successfully. I especially look forward to working with the 3,500 employees and 10,000 customers and partners who have made IFS the great company it is today."
Per Franzen, Partner at IFS owner EQT, comments: "Darren Roos has extensive experience, in-depth know-how and proven success in the markets in which IFS operates. This makes him the perfect choice for the new CEO. His appointment comes at a time when IFS has the opportunity to gain further momentum and build on its leadership position. This is good news for IFS customers, partners and, of course, employees. We thank Alastair Sorbie for his great commitment and for establishing IFS as such a successful company. We very much look forward to continuing to work with him as part of EQT's industry network."
Commenting on his retirement, Sorbie said: "I am proud to have built IFS into a global company during my twelve years as CEO. I would like to thank the many colleagues who have been part of this journey. With their help, a culture has been created that makes IFS extremely attractive to both highly skilled employees and industry-leading companies. I wish them, Darren Roos and the entire IFS community the very best for the future." kp
