In future, the various research and development departments will work together there in a concentrated manner. The six-storey building also offers space for the greatly expanded production of micro-drives for medical technology. These are used in insulin pumps, drug dosing systems and surgical robots, among other things. In order to meet the highest quality standards, the company integrates clean rooms into the production process.

More than 1200 employees work at the headquarters. With the Innovation Center, they will now have a fifth building, which will be connected to the existing buildings via passerelles. The new building consists of two basement levels with parking spaces and technical facilities, two production levels and two floors for offices. A solar system will be installed on the flat roof, which will supply 180 megawatt hours of energy per year. Several trees, shrubs and a biotope complement the surroundings.

The Innovation Center was built at a cost of around 30 million Swiss francs and is an important part of the company's growth strategy. "We are strengthening our Swiss headquarters so that we can focus even better on the individual markets globally," says CEO Eugen Elmiger. This is linked to a global research & development team and the continuous expansion of the eight production sites. With over 2600 employees worldwide, the focus will be placed even more strongly on holistic drive systems and their integration into a wide range of applications.
