This committee is driving forward the ongoing global expansion of the sales, development and production centers and is responsible for the strategic direction of the Group with its 2,800 employees.

At the same time, the Swiss headquarters in Sachseln with its 1,200 employees will have its own local management team. This took up its work on January 1, 2019. Daniel von Wyl, long-standing Head of the Maxon medical division, will take over the position of local Managing Director in Sachseln. The definitive handover of all responsibilities will take place in 2020.

There have been two changes to the Group Executive Board: Björn Axelsson joined on January 1, 2019. He fills the newly created position of Group Human Resources Officer.

COO Peter Grütter, on the other hand, is leaving Group Management. He has been with Maxon since December 2013 and is now devoting himself to new challenges within the Group. Among other things, he is responsible for the integration of the British electric motor manufacturer Parvalux with around 180 employees, which was acquired by Maxon at the end of 2018. He is also responsible for setting up the production site in Taunton (USA), which opened in March 2019.

Eugen Elmiger will remain CEO of the Group. He says: "We are delighted that we have been able to recruit Björn Axelsson for maxon and that he will make a decisive contribution to our company in the newly created position of Group HR Manager. I would like to thank Peter Grütter for his great commitment over the last 5 years and wish him every success in his new role."
