Marc Hirtz is the new Vice President Global Sales at abas
At the beginning of 2018, Marc Hirtz (50), a graduate industrial engineer and enthusiastic sailor, took over responsibility for global sales at the abas Group and is now a member of the abas Software Management Board.
In his role as Vice President Global Sales, he will position the Group's sales organization for accelerated growth, strengthen existing sales channels and open up new ones. The main tasks of the Flensburg native include the expansion of the international sales strategy and the associated rollout of new partner models.
Marc Hirtz has many years of management experience in the high-tech industry. Over the past 17 years, he has been responsible for the development of software companies, from strategic positioning, product management and business development to the operational management of direct and indirect sales organizations. Most recently, he was Managing Director of the software division of Pitney Bowes in Continental Europe.
Before studying industrial engineering in Braunschweig and New Orleans, Hirtz, who lives in Hofheim am Taunus, was commander of a navy speedboat. He began his professional career as a management consultant. As head of corporate strategy, he oversaw the successful IPO of semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies in 2000 and was subsequently responsible for its regional expansion strategy in China and Japan. For Avaya Inc, a software provider of call center and unified communication solutions, he built up the industry solutions division in Europe and introduced a cloud-based unified communication application for small and medium-sized enterprises. cs
