Mapal opens second location in Mexico

Mapal Frhenosa, a joint venture of the Mapal Group, is intensifying its activities in Mexico. The company has built a second branch in Santiago de Querétaro and is now also present in the center of the country. The opening took place at the end of January in the presence of numerous representatives from politics and business.

Mapal Frhenosa has a leading market position in Mexico in the field of precision tools and employs around 120 people. The company's headquarters are located in Monterrey in the north of the country. With the new plant in Querétaro, significantly more production capacity is now available for the reconditioning of tools. In addition, 100 new jobs will be created successively. "With the second site, we are able to significantly increase our response times and meet the growing demands of our customers," says Dr. Jochen Kress, Managing Partner of the Mapal Group. In recent years, Querétaro has developed into an important industrial center for the international automotive and aerospace industries.

In addition to individual process solutions for the machining of all types of materials, Mapal Frhenosa offers fast reconditioning of PCD tools and regrinding of solid carbide tools in both Monterrey and Querétaro. The machine equipment and manufacturing processes are identical in both plants and are in line with the high international standards of the MAPAL Group. "The newly created capacities are an investment in the future for us. We want to continue to grow," explains Lazaro Garzo Sr, CEO of Mapal Frhenosa Mexico.

Mexico has concluded free trade and cooperation agreements with more than 60 countries and is a strategically important location with great development potential for the international Mapal Group. Around 2.3 million euros were invested in the construction of the new branch.
