Exchange between practice and teaching
Hoffmann Group joins Internet Business Cluster
The Hoffmann Group has joined the Internet Business Clusters e.V. (IBC), a cooperation network of recognized university institutes and leading digital companies. In doing so, the expert for quality tools wants to contribute to an increased exchange between practice and teaching.
Digitalization plays a central role in the Hoffmann Group's corporate strategy. It is not just about optimizing the shopping experience for B2B customers. The company wants to support customers with intelligent solutions in their daily work and the optimization of their processes and accompany them on the path towards Industry 4.0. In these initiatives, the Hoffmann Group benefits from its many years of experience as a dealer and manufacturer of quality tools and factory equipment.
"Since the prominent takeover of the online tool platform Contorion last year at the latest, Hoffmann is no longer a hidden champion. The 99-year-old tool specialist from Munich is pursuing a consistent digitalization strategy and we are delighted that the company has joined the IBC. We have thus gained an attractive new partner and, in Dr. Christoph Steiger, an expert in the field of digitalization as a new member of the IBC Board. Burda will also benefit from the exchange with the Hoffmann Group," says Mathias Wahrenberger, Managing Director of Burda Digital and IBC Board member. Dr Christoph Steiger has been driving digitalization as Chief Digital Officer since the beginning of 2017. Previously, as global head of management consulting at SAP, he supported customers in their digital transformation.
Dr Christoph Steiger, Director of Digital Business at Hoffmann and member of the IBC Board, is convinced: "Cooperation between research, education and industry must be strengthened, especially in the field of digitalization. We are therefore looking forward to working closely with the IBC."
The Internet Business Clusters e.V. association was founded in 2011 with the aim of bringing together thought leaders from the digital world with young talent. The aim is to strengthen Munich as a digital location and promote exchange within the tech and digital community. In addition to Burda and the Hoffmann Group, SapientRazorfish, HSE 24, Messe München, the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) and the University of Regensburg are currently active in the IBC. kp
