Helukabel builds new site in Haan
Expertise in electrical connection technology under one roof
The Helukabel Group is creating space for further growth: the specialist in electrical connection technology is building a new site in Haan, North Rhine-Westphalia. From 2025, this will not only house the Helukabel Rhine-Ruhr branch, which is currently based in Duisburg, but also the subsidiaries EKD Systems and Robotec-Systems.
Founded in 1970 in Erkrath near Düsseldorf, EKD Systems GmbH specializes in the development and manufacture of cable drag chains made of steel, stainless steel and plastic. EKD has been part of the Helukabel Group since the beginning of 2022 - just like Robotec-Systems: the company, which is currently still based in Duisburg, supplies hose and media packages for robotics. Helukabel acquired Robotec-Systems back in 2012 in order to strengthen its position in this promising business field.
In future, both subsidiaries will work under one roof at the new Haan site - just like the Helukabel Rhine-Ruhr branch, which is moving its headquarters here from Duisburg. As customers and business areas overlap in many places anyway, the Group is hoping to achieve considerable synergy effects from the merger. "On the one hand, our new building will create significantly more space and additional capacity to enable us to grow further," explains Andreas Hoppe, Commercial Director of Helukabel. The aim is to increase the number of employees on site from the current 70 to 150 by 2030. "On the other hand, this will enable us to pool our expertise even better in order to offer our customers tailor-made and ready-to-use complete solutions for all aspects of electrical connection technology."
Attractive location close to customers
The city of Haan was convincing in many respects as a home for the joint new building, adds Hoppe: "The geographical proximity to our existing locations is a great advantage. After all, many of our existing customers are based here and our employees don't have to put up with a long commute." The excellent infrastructure and the attractive location in the heart of the economically strong Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region were also arguments in its favor: "We are delighted to have found such a great partner for our project in the city of Haan."
