Trade fair returns to Hanover on Monday
One of the themes of Hannover Messe 2022 is the turning point in international economic and energy policy, which is accompanied by rising energy prices and disrupted supply chains. Meanwhile, more and more manufacturing companies are doing their bit to combat climate change.
From May 30 to June 2, 2,500 companies will be presenting their technologies for the factories and energy systems of tomorrow at the exhibition grounds in Hanover. Under the guiding theme of Industrial Transformation, they will be demonstrating how networked production facilities can work more efficiently and conserve resources, and how energy can be generated and transmitted sustainably.
"In light of the current global political situation, the topics at Hannover Messe are more relevant than ever before," said Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman and CEO of Deutsche Messe. "The core issue is how we can ensure security of supply and growth in a dynamically changing world - politically, ecologically and economically - while at the same time counteracting climate change. Innovative technologies will play a key role here," adds Köckler.
Due to the current energy supply debate, the topic of hydrogen is becoming increasingly important at the Hannover Messe. "We have been offering the largest European platform for the hydrogen and fuel cell industry for years. In Hanover, more than 200 companies will be presenting solutions for a sustainable energy supply using hydrogen from renewable energies," says Köckler. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Portugal's Prime Minister António Costa will jointly open the Hannover Messe.
More than 120 companies from the partner country Portugal have registered for Hannover Messe 2022. Under the motto "Portugal Makes Sense", they will be showcasing their products and solutions for digital transformation, the energy transition and reliable supply chains.
In addition to the trade fair presentations, visitors can look forward to a top-class supporting program. The four conference stages will cover topics such as automation, cloud and infrastructure, analysis and data management, digital platforms, robotics, IT security, artificial intelligence, renewable energies, green hydrogen, energy-efficient andCO2-neutral production, digital energy management, the circular economy and much more. The complete program will be streamed simultaneously via the Hannover Messe website.
