Dr. Karsten Theis appointed to the Prostep Management Board

The PLM consulting and software company Prostep is initiating a generational change in the company management. At its last meeting in November, the company's Supervisory Board appointed Dr. Karsten Theis to the Management Board.

Theis, who has been with the company for more than 15 years and has held various management positions, will be responsible for Prostep products, marketing, sales outside the automotive OEM sector and the US business in his new role as Deputy CEO.

Born in Wuppertal in 1969, he studied electrical engineering at the University of Dortmund, where he completed his doctorate in the field of automation technology and robotics. He has worked at Prostep since 2002, including several years as head of the PLM Strategies & Processes business unit, where he made a significant contribution to the expansion of PLM strategy consulting, which is now a core component of the company's range of services. Prior to his appointment to the Management Board, he was responsible for sales as a member of the Executive Board. His tasks as a member of the Management Board include expanding area sales and acquiring new customers in the SME sector, which face similar challenges to the major car manufacturers when it comes to digitalizing their business processes and models.

"The digital transformation is also a challenge for us. We have to think ahead in PLM and offer our customers new solutions for the end-to-end digitalization of their processes in development, production and service," said CEO Dr Bernd Pätzold, explaining the expansion of the Management Board: "In recent years, Karsten Theis has proven that he is capable of providing significant impetus for the development of new business areas and the development of new customers outside of our traditional clientele."
