Endress+Hauser inaugurates new production building

Increasing demand for innovative temperature measurement technology and system products as well as the introduction of new product lines made the expansion necessary. "We are constantly investing in our competence centers in order to develop convincing solutions for our customers and to be able to produce efficiently," said Matthias Altendorf, CEO of the Group, during the opening speech on 26 October.

In many processes, temperature is a measurement parameter with a major influence on product quality. "We will continue to expand and complete our portfolio of temperature and system products so that we can continue to serve our customers optimally in the future. To do this, we need additional space for research and development, production, logistics and quality assurance. We have created this space with the new building," says Harald Hertweck, Managing Director of the Competence Center for Temperature Measurement Technology.

The modern new building impresses with its intelligent architecture: sloping façades provide solar shading; large glass fronts allow plenty of light into the interior. In addition, the new building is based on a sustainable energy concept: the electricity from the photovoltaic system installed on the roof of the building completely covers the base load of the production processes. E-bike charging stations also underline the sustainability concept.

With the construction of the production building, the company also optimized its production and logistics processes. The operating processes were structured according to the "lean principles" and the "one piece flow" approach. This makes it possible to strengthen the personal responsibility of employees, increase production flexibility and make optimum use of machine and equipment capacities.

The competence center for temperature measurement technology and system products

Endress+Hauser Wetzer, the Group's competence center for temperature measurement technology and system products, produces at its headquarters in Nesselwang and at five other locations: Pessano (Italy), Greenwood (USA), Suzhou (China), Aurangabad (India) and Benoni (South Africa).

The company has received several awards this year for the world's first self-calibrating thermometer iTHERM TrustSens: Following awards in France (Mesures, CFIA) and the Czech Republic (Zlatý Amper), Endress+Hauser received the prestigious Hermes Award at the Hannover Messe and the AMA Innovation Award at Sensor+Test in Nuremberg.
