New software version
Eaton expands Intelligent Power Management
Eaton announces the launch of version 1.60 of its Intelligent Power Manager (IPM) in the EMEA region. The new version of the software allows full integration with the Nutanix Acropolis hyperconverged infrastructure platform. This enables its users to easily shut down their Nutanix infrastructure with the IPM software, improve business continuity and better protect their business-critical data in the event of power outages.
"IT professionals are increasingly turning to hyperconverged infrastructures to reduce costs and increase the availability of their edge applications," said Harald Trapp, Software Connectivity Engineer at Eaton. "With the single node option, as well as the soon to be available two-node clustered version, the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud delivers an optimal business continuity solution for organizations. When combined with Eaton's industry-leading 93PS or 9PX UPS models and ePDUG3 rack PDU, it also protects mission-critical edge applications in remote offices or storefronts. Administrators can easily integrate software-defined power management into their Acropolis environment remotely."
Nutanix Acropolis combines software-defined storage with extensive features and integrated virtualization in a fully hyperconverged infrastructure solution. By integrating with Eaton's Intelligent Power Manager, Acropolis users can now remotely shut down the Nutanix Acropolis Hypervisor (AHV) during unexpected power outages without worrying about data loss or integrity.
In addition to integration with Nutanix Acropolis, the latest version also supports integration with VMware vSAN software for hyperconverged infrastructures and the Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization platform. This enables users in vSAN environments to efficiently manage their power infrastructure as part of their vSAN applications or Hyper-V hypervisors.
