e.GO Digital uses Mirosoft Azure

At the Microsoft stand at the Hannover Messe, e.GO is presenting the e.GO Mover electric minibus for urban transportation as well as initial mobility solutions for the metropolitan and industrial sectors.

e.GO Digital GmbH, the digitalization unit of the electric vehicle manufacturer e.GO Mobile AG, is developing data-based services for the electric and autonomous minibus e.GO Mover. The Microsoft Azure cloud platform is used to develop agile and efficient user-oriented apps. e.GO Digital is one of more than 25 Microsoft partners and customers presenting IoT solutions based on Microsoft technologies at the Microsoft stand.

e.GO Digital uses Mirosoft Azure
e.GO Digital relies on Microsoft's Azure cloud platform for the development of urban mobility solutions in the form of apps. Solutions, for example for on-demand mobility, simplify transportation in inner-city environments and shape the digital transformation in the electromobility ecosystem. "We are delighted that e.GO Digital GmbH is able to put innovative ideas for urban mobility into practice with Microsoft and is already presenting initial approaches at the Hannover Messe," explains Professor Günther Schuh, CEO of e.GO Mobile AG.

"With the e.GO Mover, e.GO is proving that autonomous driving is no longer a dream of the future, but can already provide us with concrete support in our everyday lives today. With Microsoft Azure, e.GO is relying on a globally scalable, secure infrastructure and intelligent services for advanced analytics and artificial intelligence for its mobility solutions," says Robert Lokner, industry expert for autonomous driving and mobility at Microsoft Germany.

Visions for inner-city traffic
e.GO Digital will be presenting scenarios for future inner-city traffic at the stand. In addition to the e.GO Mover, these visions also include collection points on city entry roads where visitors can park their cars and switch to electric vehicles. Transportation in city centres is provided by minibuses, shuttles or cabs, in which each customer is shown tailored information on cultural and commercial offers. Combining private transport with public transport thus relieves the burden on cities and caters to users according to their needs and requirements.

Together with its cooperation partner ZF Friedrichshafen AG, e.GO Mobile AG is developing the e.GO Mover electric city bus. The model is comparable in size to an SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle), carries up to 15 passengers and enables an economical on-demand service in local public transport by allowing passengers to use the electric buses via mobile service providers, independent of bus stops. The electric city bus runs emission-free and very quietly for up to ten hours within the city. The e.GO Mover will be on display at the Microsoft stand at the Hannover Messe.
