DSEI Germany grows to four halls
"Unprecedented demand from the industry"
Around nine months before its premiere in March 2027, DSEI Germany has announced the opening of a fourth exhibition hall due to strong feedback from the industry. This will make the event by far the largest defense and security trade fair in Germany.
DSEI Germany will take place at Europe's largest exhibition center in Hanover from March 9 to 12, 2027. The expansion will increase the hall area of DSEI Germany from 82,000 to 100,000 square meters. Together with a 25,000 square meter outdoor area, this corresponds to an area the size of around 18 soccer pitches.
Timing in the geopolitical context
The event is positioned in a particularly dynamic geopolitical and industrial policy environment. Against the backdrop of the planned increase in the annual German defense budget to 180 billion euros by 2030, the trade fair addresses key security and defense policy priorities of Germany, Europe and NATO. At the same time, it is intended to serve as a platform for exchange between politics, the armed forces and industry.
Exhibition space fully booked even before the premiere
The space in the original three halls was already fully booked nine months before the start. With the additional fourth hall, the Land, Air & Space, Sea and Cyber & Information areas in particular are to be expanded and made more visible.
BDSV confirmed as industry partner
As part of the expansion, the Federal Association of the German Security and Defense Industry (BDSV) was confirmed as a cooperation partner of the industry. The association represents more than 400 companies and acts as an interface between industry, the Federal Ministry of Defense, the Bundeswehr, political decision-makers and the media.
Kögel: "Unprecedented demand from the industry"
"By opening an additional exhibition hall, we are responding to the unprecedented demand from the industry," said Bernd Kögel, Managing Director of DSEI Germany. "Because companies need an international platform that brings together defense, industrial innovation and pioneering technologies and gives new market players visibility."
