Material knowledge
Dassault Systèmes and Granta Design cooperate
Dassault Systèmes and Granta Design are collaborating to provide materials knowledge. The aim is to support innovative product development teams in making more informed decisions about the materials used in product development and thus offer users an improved user experience.
Dassault Systèmes' 3DExperience platform integrates Granta Design's Granta MI material information management system to improve productivity and collaboration.
With the integration of Granta MI technology, product innovation teams have access to qualified information from the company's material database directly in the 3DExperience platform. Designers, engineers, simulation experts and other stakeholders can quickly access accurate and consistent material information and material properties and verify that structural behavior, cost, application, compliance or sustainability requirements are met.
"Science-driven companies that use the 3DExperience platform to explore materials now gain greater certainty and flexibility in their innovation process," said LeifPedersen, CEO, Biovia at Dassault Systèmes. "The ability to search and assign the right material has a direct impact on the user experience, from the stiffness of a tennis racket or the padding of a car seat to the right material for additive manufacturing. At the same time, growing consumer awareness of the environmental impact of their product investment must be taken into account. Our customers need to understand the materials they use throughout the product innovation process."
"We are very excited to partner with Dassault Systèmes to bring the benefits of materials intelligence to users of the 3DExperience platform," said Patrick Coulter, Chief Operating Officer at Granta Design. "We know our customers are eagerly awaiting the integration and we look forward to making it available to them and continuing to work with Dassault Systèmes to develop applications that help manufacturing companies get more value from materials knowledge."
