CeBIT 2018
Collaboration and digital workspace trends
The new CEBIT is promoting more collaboration, as the digital workplace is becoming a productivity hotspot. Solutions with 360-degree output that provide all office tools in an end-to-end process are in demand.
Social collaboration is becoming increasingly important: modern messenger services connect employees as required, make knowledge shareable and ensure data security. At CEBIT in June (11 to 15), the diverse possibilities of the new world of work will be brought to life.
Companies are increasingly focusing on the digital workspace: nine out of ten decision-makers believe that mobile tools and collaboration services improve productivity. A recent study by British Telecom names five key building blocks for increasing performance: a better networked workplace, convenient co-working outside the office, company apps, instant messaging services and more powerful end devices.
Accenture: defined role descriptions are a thing of the past
The massive technological changes are both an opportunity and a challenge: one in three companies in Germany has already redefined the tasks of employees. According to management consultants Accenture, clearly defined role descriptions will soon be a thing of the past, as work will have to be organized on a much more project-based basis. "In the working world of the future, machines will not dominate people. Rather, intelligent technologies will be the key to more productive employees who can get rid of routine tasks and devote themselves to those with higher added value," explains Frank Riemensperger, CEO of Accenture Germany.
Companies rely on automated security concepts
Data security is also an important issue in this environment. Because many attacks originate from employee workstations, companies are increasingly relying on automated security concepts. A wide range of such solutions will be presented at CEBIT. The new applications meet the requirements of the EU General Data Protection Regulation, which demands that the user retains control over personal data.
IBM: Artificial intelligence makes work smarter and more efficient
Artificial intelligence plays a key role in Workspace 4.0. Assistants such as Alexa or chatbots that respond to voice input make it easier to operate many programs. IBM's Watson Workspace platform combines the capabilities of the cognitive supercomputer with a collaboration solution that bundles communication streams from various sources and sorts them according to relevance - from emails and company chats to social media apps.
Flexible concepts from Atlassian
Atlassian also supports project teams with flexible concepts. Numerous companies use the products Jira Software, Confluence, Stride and Bitbucket for collaboration, content creation, real-time communication or service management. With GRÜN.SOCIAL from GRÜN Software, employees can communicate in real time, make documents available for download or coordinate appointments. The program can be used in the intranet and extranet.
Datev presents digital experience course
Collaboration also offers new opportunities for tax consultants and their business customers. DATEV's CEBIT presentation will be designed as a digital experience course. The various stations illustrate how collaboration can be organized in partnership. Topics include digital accounting, digital payroll accounting, mobile applications and cloud concepts.
"Simplify Digital Work" at Matrix42
Matrix42's CEBIT appearance will be held under the motto "Simplify Digital Work". The focus will be on three topics: Unified Endpoint Management, License Compliance and IT Security. The company will be presenting together with its technology partners VOQUZ, Makrofactory, enSilo, PerformanceGuard and Egosecure. "Together, we want to show how devices, applications, processes and services can be managed easily, securely and in compliance with licensing law," reports Matrix42 CEO Oliver Bendig.
CAS with app-based solution for medium-sized companies
The SmartWe collaboration software from CAS was recently honored with the German Design Award 2018. The app-based solution for medium-sized companies includes numerous functions for customer-centric processes, customer centricity and collaboration.
Ephesoft helps with unstructured document data
Ephesoft presents version 4.5 of its Transact software for the intelligent capture, classification and extraction of unstructured document data. A new feature is the integration of machine learning-based web interfaces that enable classification to be integrated into existing applications.
M-Files: every user can find all the data they need thanks to AI
In Hanover, M-Files will be presenting a content service and ECM platform that allows every user to access all the data in their working environment - regardless of where it is stored. The documents do not need to be tagged or linked because artificial intelligence generates the necessary metadata.

Business Collaboration Pavilion and d!talk program offer inspiration for decision-makers
There are even more practical solutions in the Business Collaboration Pavilion at CEBIT in Hall 15. At Sycor, everything revolves around the topics of hosting, Office D365, cloud and managed services. loboSPhere from lobo helps to implement Microsoft SharePoint projects with templates in the team, for example for contract or project management. Portal Systems Consulting shows how SharePoint becomes a platform for business applications with Shareflex. And aXon supports companies with consulting, usability and implementation on their path to digitalization.
Of course, intelligent workspace tools also play an important role in the exclusive d!talk conference program at CEBIT. For example, if you want to find out first-hand how AI is revolutionizing the world of work, don't miss the presentation by Lukas Hebeisen, Head of Technology & Digital Transformation at document management provider Swiss Post Solutions, on Tuesday, 12 June.
