Groundbreaking ceremony
Bosch Rexroth expands site in Augsfeld
With a symbolic ground-breaking ceremony on March 23, Bosch Rexroth kicked off the construction of a new three-storey building in Augsfeld, which will house a new canteen as well as offices and meeting rooms. The building is scheduled for completion in April 2019. The costs for the construction project amount to a mid-single-digit million euro sum.
"With the new building, Bosch Rexroth is investing in our site and its future," says Dr. Guido von Killisch-Horn, Technical Plant Manager in Augsfeld and project manager for the client. The new building meets the additional demand for office space that has arisen as a result of the integration of logistics into the plant. The new canteen for the plant's more than 450 employees is also part of the site concept.
The new canteen and office building is being built on the factory premises in a central location between the gate and the dispatch yard, making it easily accessible for employees and visitors alike. Once completed, it will offer around 2,000 square meters of usable space and will be characterized by high functionality and a modern design both inside and out.
"We want to create an attractive working environment for our employees that promotes creativity and teamwork," says Rainer Schäfer, Commercial Plant Manager in Augsfeld. In addition to the canteen, meeting rooms will also be located on the first floor. The offices, which will later provide space for 70 employees, will be located on the first and second floors. After extensive remodeling, the current canteen will be used as a technical building.
At its Augsfeld site, the specialist for drive and control technology manufactures hydraulic components (control blocks, valve modules) for mobile applications in construction and commercial vehicles. kp
