Signs of growth
Bito invests
Storage technology specialist Bito continues to invest heavily in the company's growth with a new production hall and a new production site.
The company, which has always been deeply rooted in its home region, is once again investing in its regional sites. The expansion of the Lauterecken site to include a new factory hall for plastic container production, with a total investment of around 10 million euros, was a significant step in this direction. The first additional machines have been running there since the spring. At the end of August, the extension was inaugurated together with Bito employees at a large staff party.
The company is also continuing to invest in the production facilities for shelving systems at its headquarters in Meisenheim. "Part of our positive growth strategy is to use new machines to boost our productivity in the production of shelving systems. This is the only way we can continue to offer our customers worldwide short delivery times and high-quality storage solutions in the face of a rapidly increasing order situation," emphasizes Winfried Schmuck, Managing Director of Bito.
In addition to the two regional production sites, the company will start building a new production site for shelving systems in Poland this fall. This step will serve to implement the company's own growth plans and improve international customer service.
"Demand on the Eastern European market has increased rapidly in recent years. With this additional location, we want to make the delivery conditions for these parts of Europe faster, simpler and more efficient. The new site will also relieve the pressure on our plant in Meisenheim and create new capacity there, which we need for further growth," says Schmuck. Production at the new plant will begin in early summer 2019.
