Yvonne Groth honored with the Engineer Woman Award

Dipl.-Ing. Yvonne Groth was presented with the Engineer Woman Award at the opening ceremony of the Femworx career congress. An independent jury, consisting of members of the Femworx Congress Advisory Board, had previously nominated four female experts for this outstanding award.

The winner was honored at the opening of the Femworx Career Congress on April 25. Lower Saxony's Minister of Culture Julia Willie Hamburg and Dr. Kathrin Rüschenschmidt, Director Innovation Process & PMO at Emerson and member of the Femworx advisory board and jury, presented the award. Every year at the Hannover Messe, Deutsche Messe presents the award to an expert who has made an outstanding contribution to the scientific and technical disciplines.

Yvonne Groth is a worthy winner of the award. She studied Land Culture and Environmental Protection at the University of Rostock. In 2006, she joined the IBS Group as a project engineer, where she took over as Managing Director in 2015. She has been Managing Director of Dornier Construction and Service since 2022. In addition to her professional activities, Yvonne Groth has been a volunteer for the advancement of women for many years. Among other things, she is a mentor in the cross-mentoring program "Aufstieg in Unternehmen - Mentoring für Frauen in der Wirtschaft in M-V", founder of the Welcome Center Mecklenburgische Seenplatte, a contact point for newcomers, returnees and companies to support the recruitment, securing and retention of skilled workers. She also organizes a business lunch for women in management positions from the business world and is active in the school/business working group. The initiative aims to encourage companies to reward and promote the performance and special commitment of their female employees in STEM professions even more.

Career congress for women in the industry

This year, the 21st Career Congress took place over two days for the first time. "If we want to change the structures, we can't do it alone. This makes it all the more important to network," emphasized Minister of Education Julia Willie Hamburg. Sponsors are: Volkswagen, Dirk Rossmann, PowerCo, Finanz Informatik, Lufthansa Technik, TenneT TSO, Bundeswehr and Computacenter.
