Since January 1, 2018, the two companies have maintained an open cooperation in the areas of simulation, design, assembly and testing of powertrain components for both electric and conventional vehicles.

The collaboration between AVL and Comau will provide customers worldwide with access to robust standard solutions - supported by a local presence, which will increase quality and shorten time-to-market. The partnership will initially focus on assembly systems and end-of-line testing for vehicle batteries.

"Our partnership brings together two market leaders in their respective fields. With common goals and complementary skills, we are able to offer our customers the best of both worlds and provide the market with a unique interface for the entire assembly process - from design to execution," explains Andrew Lloyd, Automation Systems COO, Comau.
