Atlas Copco takes over Cologne-based compressed air specialist

Atlas Copco has acquired Dr. Gustav Gail Drucklufttechnik, based in Cologne. The company sells compressors and compressed air technology as well as related services.

Dr. Gail is a long-standing trading partner of Atlas Copco in the Cologne area and has ten employees. The company is being acquired by KDS Kompressoren- und Druckluftservice, a subsidiary of Atlas Copco Germany based in Essen. The business will continue to operate from its current location in the south of Cologne.

"The company is in a strong position and has great potential for growth in the region," says Vagner Rego, President of Atlas Copco's Compression Technology division, into whose service division Dr. Gustav Gail will be integrated. "The takeover will enable us to provide even better support to our customers in industry and commerce around Cologne and in the Rhineland." The purchase price is subordinate to Atlas Copco's market capitalization and will not be disclosed. as
