Schnettler, CEO New Energy Business at Siemens Energy, succeeds Dr. Gunther Kegel, CEO Pepperl + Fuchs, who is moving to the ZVEI as President. Deputy VDE President is Alf Henryk Wulf, member of the Supervisory Board of Software AG.

Schnettler has been active in the VDE for many years and, as Chairman of the Energy Technology Society in the VDE (VDE ETG), has driven forward the topics of the energy transition and grid expansion. "During my term as VDE President, I would like to focus the VDE even more strongly on the topics of sustainability and 'Energy of the Future' as well as safety and security. I am delighted that I can work together with more than 100,000 volunteer experts and 1,500 companies in the VDE network to drive forward technologies for a future worth living. Together we are striving - and I have no doubt that we will succeed - to become THE neutral and competent technical-scientific partner for industry, politics and, in particular, society," says the new VDE President, outlining his goals. as
