Cooperation ended
Alfred Weber leaves Mann+Hummel
The authorized representatives of the Mann+Hummel Group, Thomas Fischer and Manfred Wolf, and the Chairman of the Management Board, Alfred Weber, have agreed to end their cooperation.
Weber had already ruled out extending his contract beyond 2018 in summer 2017 and has now asked to be relieved of his duties for personal reasons. He is resigning from his position with immediate effect.
Until a successor is appointed, the managing directors of the Group will manage the company in close coordination with the two authorized representatives.
"On behalf of the shareholders and managing directors, I would like to thank Alfred Weber unreservedly for his outstanding work. In his nine years at the helm of the Mann+Hummel Group, Mr. Weber has fundamentally developed our company," said Thomas Fischer, Chairman of the Mann+Hummel Supervisory Board, in recognition of Weber's work. "Turnover has more than doubled during this time and earnings have developed just as positively."
Fischer represents the owner family Mann; Wolf represents the owner family Hummel. Wolf adds: "Our long-standing CEO has prepared our company perfectly for new challenges - digitalization, new forms of mobility and the ever-increasing demand for sustainability. Alfred Weber turned challenges into opportunities with a sure instinct and impressive drive. He has many friends among customers and employees all over the world. I would also like to say thank you on their behalf."
The shareholders' representatives are already in advanced talks with potential successors and are confident that a successor for Weber will be named in the coming months. kp
