Geppert band becomes Dorner

The conveyor belt manufacturer Geppert-Band has been acquired by the shareholders of Dorner Manufacturing Corporation, a manufacturer of precision conveyors in North America. This acquisition has opened up additional development potential for the company. The image change from conveyor belt supplier to problem solver and provider of conveyor solutions is gaining momentum thanks to the cooperation with Dorner.

A conveyor belt manufacturer since 1967, Geppert-Band has made a name for itself in the past with its strong customer service, in particular its solution-oriented thinking tailored to individual customer requirements and short delivery times. The acquisition by the shareholders of Dorner Manufacturing Corporation, the largest manufacturer of precision conveyors in North America, now opens up additional development potential for this high-performance company.

On the one hand, the long-established corporate philosophy will be continued and expanded, while on the other, the existing structures and business processes will be carefully adapted and standardized to meet the requirements of an internationally active company.

For customers, this means

  • Proven services, such as fast delivery times, will be retained and further improved. This will continue to enable reliable planning and cost control. Expensive production downtime and warehousing costs are avoided.

  • The image change from conveyor belt supplier to problem solver and provider of conveyor solutions is gaining momentum thanks to the cooperation with Dorner. The customer benefits because in future he will have a larger product portfolio at his disposal for optimizing his conveying tasks. Dorner is a partner that can coordinate and implement all steps from analysis and planning to implementation and integration into existing conveyor systems on site.
  • With the addition of Dorner conveyor belts to the product portfolio, a complete range of indoor conveyor systems is now available. This also benefits customers who were previously unable to access the original Geppert-Band range. The range now includes belt, plastic modular chain and metal link conveyors, modular transfer systems and modular chain conveyors. As a result, the company has become the largest conveyor belt manufacturer on the market and can therefore respond to all customer requirements with a wide range of options.
  • Globally active customers want to cooperate with suppliers who are also well represented internationally and thus ensure effective and smooth production processes. The global orientation of the Dorner companies enables Dorner to meet these requirements: in addition to the American headquarters, there are sister companies in Canada, Mexico, Malaysia and Germany. In addition to the entire European market, Africa and the Middle East are also supplied from Germany.

Dorner in Jülich in the Rhineland is where all the threads will come together in future, as this is the new European headquarters of Dorner Manufacturing Corporation, which - also with German roots - was founded by the two brothers Wolfgang and Horst Dorner in 1966. Future growth on the European market required an additional production hall, which was completed at the beginning of 2018. am
