Access solution for complex building openings
Card reader with integrated relay for demanding access situations
With the Aperio DR100, Assa Abloy is expanding its portfolio of digital access solutions with a card reader with integrated relay for demanding door and access situations. The solution was developed specifically for highly frequented and security-relevant openings and creates additional flexibility for retrofitting, modernization and system expansion.
Whether main entrance, turnstile, loading zone, roof access or gate control: in many buildings there are openings that can only be integrated into a digital access concept with increased effort. This is exactly where the new Aperio DR100 comes in. The wall reader with integrated relay expands the product family with a solution that can be seamlessly integrated into existing access and building management systems. Both online and offline scenarios are supported, including RS485 hubs, IP hubs and Wiegand interfaces. Reliable communication is ensured by the wireless 2.4 GHz Aperio technology.
Less effort, more possibilities
Especially in existing buildings, the cost of new access solutions is often a decisive factor. The DR100 has been designed so that digital access control can be flexibly expanded without complex installations or extensive interventions in the building fabric: power is supplied via cable and integration into the access control system is wireless. Various configurable relay options enable the control of a wide range of components, such as door openers, door drives or delay switches. The permanently powered design and integrated installation concept simplify installation. Additional monitoring functions support reliable operation and help to detect tampering attempts or disruptive environmental influences at an early stage.
Future-proof technologies and applications
The DR100 processes HID iCLASS SE, Seos, MIFARE and DESFire, among others, and also supports mobile access data via NFC and Bluetooth Low Energy. This allows companies to combine physical ID cards and smartphone-based access data into a standardized concept. An LED indicates the access status directly on the reader and data transmission is encrypted. The reader is protected against dust and water jets in accordance with IP65 and is therefore suitable for indoor and outdoor use. It is supplied with 12 to 24 V DC. With up to 1,000 authorizations that can be used offline, it enables reliable operation even in the event of temporary system failures.
Aperio portfolio selectively expanded
With the DR100, Assa Abloy is adding a module to the Aperio portfolio for door situations in which classic fitting or cylinder solutions are not sufficient or a different form factor is required. This gives operators, planners and integrators an additional option for integrating even more complex openings into a central, digital access management system and managing doors, users and authorizations in a standardized way. This reduces administrative effort and creates more consistency in the security concept across different areas of the building.
"The new reader brings Aperio's award-winning, encrypted digital access technology to new indoor and outdoor applications," says Mathias Schmid, Business Development Manager Access Control at Assa Abloy Sicherheitstechnik GmbH. "Organizations can use it to integrate additional access points into an end-to-end concept and align their security architecture with current and future requirements."
