Workpiece carrier transport system

Electrics replace pneumatics

At the All About Automation regional trade fair in Friedrichshafen, Stein Automation will be presenting the well-known Stein 300 system in fully electrified form for the first time.

In order to make the workpiece carrier transport system more efficient and versatile, the automation specialist replaced all pneumatic components - such as stoppers, transfer units and centering devices - with electrically driven versions. "This not only saves energy, but is also quieter and cleaner, which is a great advantage for use in clean rooms," emphasizes Noailles. Compressors and hoses are also no longer required, which simplifies assembly and saves space during installation.

As with the pneumatic versions, Stein Automation uses RFID technology in the STEIN 300e modular transfer system to meet the demands of modern, networked industrial production. dsc
