Flat and bevel gearboxes with agitator design

SEW-Eurodrive offers the FM../FAM.. and KM../KAM. flat and bevel gear units that are specially optimized for use in mixers and agitators with an extended bearing hub.

There is already a special version of SEW-Eurodrive helical gear units for mixer and agitator applications. In many cases, however, parallel shaft and bevel gear units are used for this application - because they make better use of the available space and the agitator shafts, including the agitator element, can be inserted directly into the hollow gear unit shafts. In many cases, additional bearings can be dispensed with. SEW-Eurodrive has taken this as an opportunity to design the new FM../FAM.. and KM../KAM.. versions specifically for use in agitators and mixers. Thanks to the extended bearing hub, the gear units can absorb high lateral forces.

and kneading machines.

The offset and bevel gearboxes are available in sizes 67 to 157 and cover lateral forces in the range from 25,000 to 176,500 newtons. The parallel shaft gearboxes FAM67 to FAM157 are designed with a hollow shaft, the parallel shaft gearboxes FM67 to FM157 are designed with a solid shaft. The bevel gearbox series KAM67 to KAM157 are the hollow shaft version, the KM67 to KM157 series are the solid shaft version. The motors matching the sizes range in power from 0.12 to 90 kilowatts. The maximum permissible output torque of the gearboxes ranges from 820 to 18,000 Newton meters.

The manufacturer offers various options for the agitator design: double shaft sealing ring on the output side for additional safety against leakage; reinforced bearing also on the output side for a higher permissible transverse force, especially at high output speeds and small ratios; grease nipple for relubrication of the output shaft bearing; dry well design with leakage sensor to prevent contamination of the product by escaping lubricant; gear housing in GGG40 for even higher permissible circumferential transverse forces; flange couplings.

The gearboxes use standard housings and standard toothed parts. The special flange is bolted to the output side of the standard gearbox.

The agitator design is ideal for use in mixers, agitators, surface aerators and kneading machines. The biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, the chemical industry, the food and beverage industry, recycling and environmental technology, the paper and cellulose industry and the waste water industry are therefore predestined for the agitator design. pb
