The steering column of forklift trucks is subject to particularly high mechanical loads.
To ensure the reliability of forklift steering, Huco, a brand of Altra Industrial Motion, offers the Flex P clutch.
This is a two-stage double-loop coupling. It is characterized by the flexible Hytrel molded part, which is permanently pressed with a steel or stainless steel hub. The compact flex element absorbs vibrations and ensures reliable operation of the steering column. It can absorb radial, angular and axial misalignments and compensate for angular misalignments of up to 15 degrees. In operation, this type of coupling is characterized by low friction, wear and noise development. This benefits the service life of the steering column. The small number of parts that make up the clutch also contributes to its reliability.
