Steel spring-loaded clutch

Stromag's new steel spring-loaded coupling, which absorbs shock loads from the drivetrain, was on display at Bauma. The new development from Stromag, part of the Altra Industrial Motion Corporation, is a robust solution that can be tailored to all applications in the off-highway and construction sectors.

Due to the harsh and demanding environmental conditions in which they are used, earthmoving and road construction machines pose a real challenge for their drive and brake components. Compact and effective power transmission between the engine and driveline is crucial for the reliable operation of these machines.

Stromag has a long and successful track record of supplying its industrial customers with reliable drive products, and the latest new development builds on this. The new spring-loaded clutch reduces shock loads on the driveline to a minimum and can increase the service life of the drive components as well as the reliability of the vehicle.

The new coupling product complements Stromag's extensive range of drive couplings. It was developed to dampen torsional vibrations and absorb high impact loads and offers optimum energy efficiency. The coupling is insensitive to heat and harsh environmental conditions and can also compensate for slight misalignments.
